Conflicts today are characterised by fundamental uncertainty. The hyperconnected and dynamic world in which we live makes security risks more complex, more diffuse, and, therefore, very difficult to predict. Since it is impossible to foresee every eventuality, and systematically embed every required capability in the required quantity within a Defence force, adaptability is essential to continue to operate effectively. But what is adaptability? And how can adaptability be enhanced?
